He was born in Utica, Mississippi and moved to San Bernardino in his twenties where he was a hard-working construction laborer for many years until retirement. He was married for sixteen years to Dorothy Stamps of San Bernardino.
Mr. Stamps was preceded in death by his daughter Wilma Johnson, and leaves to cherish his memory his devoted daughters Marian Bellamy of Rialto, California and Monique Dilworth of Upper Marlboro, Maryland. He is also survived by his sisters Mattie Waller of San Bernardino, and Annie Ruth Young of Detroit, Michigan. There were six sisters and two brothers that preceded him in death. His two sons in-law, four granddaughters and a host of nieces, nephews and friends will all miss him dearly.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, February 9th from 4:00pm until 8:00p.m. at Montecito Valley View Chapel, 3520 E. Washington Street, Colton, CA 92324, 909-825-3024. Chapel will be held on Monday, February 10th at 10:00am at Montecito Valley View Chapel followed by interment at Montecito Memorial Park.
