It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Leonard McCulloch, age 76, beloved husband, father and grandfather. He passed away peacefully on Friday March 21, 2025 with his loving wife by his side. Born in Needham Massachusetts on July 14, 1948, he was the only son of Charles and Doris McCulloch.
He graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in civil engineering. He spent his professional life designing and building projects focusing on water resources.
He married his wife Winnie after meeting on a blind date on August 3, 1974. They celebrated 50 years of marriage together last summer.
He enjoyed numerous hobbies including designing and building model boats, model cars, stained glass, playing card games; bridge, hand and foot, kings corner (a family favorite!). He was a trivia buff and excelled at trivial pursuit. His friends and family will most remember him for his witty humor and loyalty to his family.
He is survived by his wife Winnie McCulloch, his two daughters, Kate McCulloch and Suzy McCulloch, his three grandchildren Luke, Molly, and Sam Penn and his beloved grand dogs Casey and Ziggy.
A receiving of friends for Charles will be held Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Witzke Funeral Homes Inc., 5555 Twin Knolls Road, Columbia, MD 21045.
