Born to Aracelia Sanabria and Guadalupe Colón, Denise faced challenges early on with a mental disability. As she aged, she developed even more issues to deal with such as epilepsy and scoliosis, which led to a metal rod being inserted in her back. Despite these challenges, she seemed to find a way to remain positive and upbeat most of the time. And also keep a close relationship with the Lord. With the help of her mother and brother, she was able to live her life more productively. She was even able to reach High School and graduate from special education. She only had one brother who lives in Michigan, whom she loved hanging out with by going to stores and sometimes simply spending time together. She also had a niece and a nephew whom she loved dearly named Shayla and Xavier.
Denise was known for her huge smile and silly quote, "You funny!" She loved to laugh and have fun.
She loved to draw and make bracelets, especially for people she adored such as family and close friends. She also adored Jesus Christ and followed his teachings. She would donate her belongings to children and other adults in need as gifts, whether or not they were family and/or friends. She really, truly loved everyone, especially if they loved her back.
Denise was a remarkable woman whose creativity, caring heart, and loving nature touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Her vibrant spirit drew people to her, whether at church, school, work program or anywhere else her path led her. She had a deep love for both animals and people, forming connections that were as genuine as they were heartfelt.
Denise's life was a testament to the power of kindness and joy. Her presence brought warmth and light to those around her, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
May her memory bring comfort and inspiration to those who were fortunate enough to share in her journey. AMEN.
Denise is survived by her mother, Aracelia Sanabria of Maryland and brother, Jeffrey (Heather) Colón, niece, Shayla and nephew, Xavier of Michigan. She also leaves a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.
