On November 13, 2014, Donald Howe Kirkley Jr. of Columbia passed away; Beloved husband of 31 years to Emily L. Kirkley; Loving father of David Howe Kirkley and Douglas Scott Kirkley; Dear brother of Faye Roland; Cherished grandfather of 3; He was predeceased by his parents, Donald Howe Kirkley Sr., and Gertrude Beaird, and his sisters, Carol Hantman and Susan Tanner.
He enjoyed spending time on Maryland’s Eastern Shore and Maine. He was a Professor Emeritus at the University of Maryland College Park; His father Don Kirkley worked as a columnist for the Baltimore Sun for many years.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Witzke Funeral Homes, Inc., 5555 Twin Knolls Rd., Columbia, MD 21045 on Saturday, November 22, 2014 from 10am to 12pm, where Memories will be shared at 11:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
