Earl served in the Korean War as a medic and later enrolled at the University of Arizona under the GI Bill, achieving his degree in Business Administration – achievements that would have been much harder without the help of his love and study partner, Suzanne Kreyns Glover, the woman who would become his wife of over 50 years.
Earl helped shape the Columbia, MD we know today. He moved his family from Lynnwood WA, in 1973, after working as a contract negotiator for Boeing Aeronautical. He was enticed to move to Columbia to head up Rouse’s residential management division. He privatized the management entity and created CRMI, Columbia Residential Management. From there, he created General American Real Estate and Development (“GARED”). GARED served to manage Rouse properties, convert apartments, and develop communities throughout Maryland, D.C., Virginia, and New Jersey. Locally notable are The Watermark Place and Glen Meadows and conversions such as Crosskeys and The Cove.
After retiring and losing “the love of his life” Suzanne, in 2008 he rediscovered his early passion for the arts and retuning his skills as a painter. He painted the scenes he loved in his youth, the mountains of Arizona as well as its flora and fauna. He spent time with his ever-growing family -enjoying Wednesday night potlucks, Friday night dinner and movie nights, and all the many events that brought the four generations of Glovers living near Columbia together. Dinners were multi-generational with any number of his children, their spouses, grandchildren, and great grandchildren attending.
He was preceded in death by his wife Suzanne Kreyns Glover (2008)
He is survived by his brothers Russell Glover (wife, Ray), Jimmy Glover (wife, Pat), Richard Glover and sister Josephine Sandberg also by his children Stephanie Glover, Philip Glover,, Cheryl Glover, and Suzanne Glover (husband, Storm Feigles): daughter-in-law Stephanie Glover, grandchildren, Sherene Cauley (husband, David), Tina Bartlinski (husband, David), Kyle Glover (wife, Mandy), Matt Glover (wife Katie) John Glover (wife, Nikki), Bailey Bulman (husband, Arthur), Burke Denue (husband, James), Mickey Phipps, Frances Newell (husband, Andrew), Bridget Phipps: in addition 10 great grand children
