

Joseph is survived by his sisters Marita Anne Katalinas, Dara Marie Katalinas Gevairgian, and Lisa Anne Katalinas Black.
Joseph is predeceased by his Father, Lt. Colonel Joseph Anton Sr., his Mother Regina Ellen Cox Katalinas, brother John (Jack) August Katalinas, sister Jeanne Ellen Katalinas Martinez, sister Joan Mary Katalinas Atha, brother Peter Joseph Katalinas, sister Regina Mary Katalinas Williams.
Joseph spent his life in Georgetown, Washington D.C., with a year in Panama and a trip to Greece. Joseph enjoyed open events at the Embassies with friends and walked the sidewalks of his hometown well into his 80’s, telling stories of Georgetown and family history.
Always active, Joseph was a member of The Boys’ Club of Washington D.C., Georgetown, a Camp Croft football and boxing coach, a lifeguard, and enjoyed weightlifting.
He will be missed and remembered by his extensive family, both in California, and his Maryland sister, nieces, nephew, grand-nieces and grand-nephews with whom he spent the holidays.
Visitation will be held at Witzke Funeral Homes Inc., 5555 Twin Knolls Road, Columbia, MD 21045, US, on April 2, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
