Kathleen was born in Baltimore to her parents Byron "Bob" and Dorothy "Betty" Risley. She is survived by her sons John Charles Macfarlane III and Byron Eric Macfarlane, granddaughter Natalie Jeane Macfarlane, and cousins Roxanne Bernhardt and Donna Lanasa, among many relatives.

A Memorial Service will be held at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2150 Mt. View Road, Marriottsville, MD 21104 on Saturday, April 11th, 2026 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life will follow at The Turn House, 11130 Willow Bottom Drive, Columbia, MD 21044 on Saturday, April 11th, 2026 from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm.
