

Rev. Kyong Gin Kim, cherished father, brother, son, uncle, and esteemed friend, passed away on August 14, 2024, at the age of 64. Born on March 26, 1960, in Sincheon, Seoul, South Korea, he was the son of Hong Yul Kim and Oak Hee Lee. Reverend Kim was a distinguished graduate of the Wesley Theological Seminary, where he earned a Doctorate in Theology.
He devoted his life to his pastoral ministry, significantly impacting the Korean United Methodist Church and its community. His commitment to his faith and his mission to spread the teachings of God were hallmarks of his ministry.
He is survived by his children, Hannah L. Kim (and her husband, Ravee) and Eugene Kim; his siblings; his numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna L. Kim; his father, Hong Yul Kim; his mother, Oak Hee Lee; and his brother, Woo Gin Kim.
Rev. Kim had a passion for travel, reading, and spending quality time with his children. He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his church, his enthusiasm for lifelong learning, and his compassionate spirit.
A visitation for Kyong will be held Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Witzke Funeral Homes Inc., 5555 Twin Knolls Road, Columbia, MD 21045, where the funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, 900 W Central Ave, Davidsonville, MD 21035 at 1:00 PM. Rev. Kim's kindness, intellect, generosity, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
