Wil, Carlos Mejias, and I served together working with the Turkish Army, HQ Southeastern flank of NATO. He was a top-notch officer. He will be missed. To Wil: "Until we join you at morning formation in heaven, God Bless."

I found myself thinking Wil, so I looked him up on Google, and found out that he had passed.. I had the great pleasure of working with Wil when I worked at the National Center for Housing Management in the 1990’s.

I am sorry to hear of his death, and even though it has been years since his passing, I extend my condolences to his family and friends. He was a fine gentleman.

I ran across this by accident and just Will’s name made me smile.  I worked as a PIO at a recruiting command in NJ fresh out of college.  Will was XO.  It was my first job and I did not know then that all bosses were not funny, smart, compassionate, competent and respected.  I still remember going to an auction when his wife bought a box of keys — just keys.  (For $8, I think, old and pretty cool.) Will thought it was hilarious.  Why that particular memory sticks with me, I don’t know, but I do know why his memory does.  He was one of a kind — and a wonderful kind at tha.

I saw a beautiful bald eagle in the pasture a couple of days ago and immediately thought of you Daddy. I have never seen one before let alone in our pasture. I like to think you sent that beautiful bird to check in on us. Daddy I miss you so much that it hurts my heart. You were the most amazing Dad. You were always there when I needed advise or a good laugh. You loved us unconditionally and never judged us. I have so many wonderful memories that I will hold in my heart and never forget. You were a good and gentle soul who I believe is watching over us. I love you Daddy.

I looked up to him all my life. He, literally, was my "big brother" with a 7-year age gap between us. Life and circumstances sort of kept us apart for too many years. But always there was the knowledge, the certainty, that he was there. And now he's gone. But he's not truly gone, I believe. Along with his beautiful family, I believe he's still there in some way or another care about us and caring for us all. God bless you, Family, and God bring comfort and peace to the hearts of all who were privileged to know my brother!

Daddy...I miss you more than anything I've ever missed in my life.  Growing up, I always knew there was something special about you.  The way you immediately put people...even strangers...at ease is a gift few of us will ever have.  You encouraged me to be who I am and to consistently strive to become better at being my true self.  You taught me to be humble and to never brag of my accomplishments.  Your words of wisdom were never "preachy" as you had a way of delivering them with sensible humor.  You cared for all of God's creatures and even felt badly that we had to take steps to protect ourselves and our animals against those creatures which could harm us. I could go on and on about the life lessons you taught me and can only hope those who know me see some assemblance of you in my actions and words.  I will live the rest of my life with you by my side and promise to always do my best to live my life as authentically as you lived yours.  I love you.

I count my blessings that I was able to know your Will for the four years I boarded at Stonebrook.  He was So I proud of his Lindy, children and Zoe! and I absolutely LOVED all the stories he told me! Hugs!!!
