

Albert Joseph Archuleta, 78, of Columbia, MO, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the Harry S. Truman VA Hospital in Columbia after a long battle with kidney failure. In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated, and his remains will be privately placed in Tranquility Garden at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Albert was born on October 2, 1946, in Raton, New Mexico, to Fermin and Louise (Cordova) Archuleta. He graduated from Hickman High School in 1964. He joined and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1965-1969, earning the rank of Platoon Sargeant after two years. During his service in the Vietnam War, he was awarded several medals, including two Purple Hearts.
After returning to Columbia, Albert married Alice Faye Farrar on March 25, 1978. He worked as a union meat cutter for 33 years. Albert’s Catholic faith was very important to him. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved family and pets. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Albert was known for giving so much and asking so little.
Albert is survived by his wife, Alice; his sons, A.J. (Jennifer) Archuleta, Alex Archuleta and granddaughter, Ava Archuleta, brothers, Sam (Robin) Archuleta of Columbia and Fermin (Vickey) Archuleta of Belton, as well as several nieces, nephews and a loving extended family. Albert was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Bettie Archuleta.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the National Kidney Foundation.
