Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Barbara was born, July 17, 1943 in her parent’s home in southern Boone County. Her parents were Charlie Hobbs and Essie (Haynes) Hobbs. They preceded her in death.
Barbara’s life was centered in her abiding faith in Jesus Christ and her deep love for her family and friends. She wanted to see all of her family members to be saved. She would do anything for anybody and was known for her loving heart. She treasured her roles as a wife and a mother. In addition to caring for her home she worked seasonally picking crops to help support the family.
Barbara is survived by her children, Glynis Jimenez, Jason Shepherd, and LaDonna Brown; four siblings, Nancy Gracia (Jessie), Roger Hobbs (Belinda), Charlene Murphy, and Patsy Shepherd; her first husband, Glen Shepherd; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by one son, Kevin Shepherd; two infant children, Roy Dale and Shelia; siblings, Charles Hobbs, Johnnie Hobbs, Cona Cornman; Juanita Bradfield; Alene Black; Billy Hobbs; and two infants, Gladys Imogen and Marie Katherine.
