Born to William Lloyd and Nellie (Sevier) Roberts on May 6, 1935; Bobby was a lifelong resident of the central Missouri area. He was a longtime lineman for GTE, but many people knew him for his musical talents and his band Bob Roberts and Three of a Kind. He could play several instruments including acoustic guitar, bass guitar, drums and he also sang lead vocals. He recorded a record in Nashville at one point and was even invited to go play the Grand Old Opry. His priority was always his family, though. He was a loving husband and a great dad. Bobby was also known for his generous spirit and charisma. He never knew a stranger and loved to help people.
Bobby was recently inducted into the Columbia Bowling Hall of Fame. Bowling was his passion and his daughters remember many hours spent in the bowling alley as children. He made many friends on the lanes and had many laughs there.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Faye (Bach) Roberts, who he spent 44 wonderful years with. Also preceding Bobby in death are his parents; a brother, Buddy Roberts; and two granddaughters: Katie Chilcutt and Brandy Lampkins.
Bobby is survived by his three beloved daughters: Vickie (David) Chilcutt, Nanette (John) Berkbuegler, and Bobbi (Darrell) Lampkins; his girlfriend, Verda Hendren; grandchildren: Michael (Evie) Chilcutt, Monica (Joe) Fulkerson, Blake (Chelsey Elliott) Berkbuegler, Jason (Stephanie) Lampkins and Jennifer (Brian Shepard) Lampkins; and great-grandchildren: Anthony, Michael Bobby and Santino Chilcutt, Patrick and Benjamin Fulkerson, Brooks Berkbuegler, Brayden Stenger, Ayden and Cadleigh Lampkins.
