Carolyn was born on January 17, 1936, in La Center, KY, to Sam Oscar and Burdia (Kerley) Brown. She was married 63 years to Alden Adams and they had three daughters, Kay, Brenda and Alicia.
She also was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and was a very good friend to many people. She was especially fond of her little dog, Ziggy. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, canning and gardening. Carolyn and Alden cared for many foster children over the years. But most of all, she loved the Lord and faithfully served Him.
She is survived by: her children: Kay Perrigo, Brenda (Lindell) Shelden, and Alicia Adams; 4 grandchildren: Sally (Travis) Haskell, Leslie (Jason) Sostman, Sara (Stephen) Rose, and Adam (Elizabeth) Shelden; 10 great grandchildren: Austin, Brandan, Dawson, Mayci, Reid, Cooper, Caden, Penelope, Aidan, and Evan. She is also survived by her sisters: Janie Ginter, Darlene (Danny) Cuppy, and MarSue (Jim) Crews; brothers: Bobby Brown, Billy (Judy) Brown, and Denny (Sue) Brown; and lots of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband Alden, her son-in-law, Boyd Perrigo; her brothers, James, Tom, Leroy and Wayne Brown; a brother in law Earl Ginter; sisters in law Marie Brown and Joan Brown.
Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 pm, with funeral services following on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with Pastor Mark Butrum officiating.
