

Carroll Jane Evans Medford, former resident of Columbia, Missouri, but most recently residing at Riverview Nursing Home in Mokane, MO, died May 13, 2015, in the hospital in Jefferson City, Mo. She was born Feb 10, 1934 to Harry and Leona (Howell) Evans, in Gardner, Kansas. She graduated from Hickman High School in Columbia, MO in 1952 and from Missouri Baptist School of Nursing in St. Louis, Mo, where she earned her RN degree. During her professional career she worked in doctor’s offices, the Boone County Hospital, University of Missouri Hospital and retired from Ellis Fischel Cancer Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
Carroll was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church in Columbia where she taught children and youth and designed costumes for local church productions from 1948 to 2000. For twenty-five years she was the certified nurse for the American Red Cross First Aid station at Missouri University football games at Faurot Field.
Carroll is survived by her son, David Lee Medford of Stover,Missouri; five grandchildren, Jeana Lee Medford, David Lee Medford II, Scott Anderson Medford, twins Grace Ann Medford and Hope Rae Medford; five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and two brothers Dr. Orlynn Evans of Hutto, TX and Harry Evans of Santa Anna, CA.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home with visitation being held one hour prior. Inurnment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery.
