David Allen, 65, lifelong resident of Columbia, MO passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. Visitation will be Friday, September 13th from 1-2:30pm at Memorial Funeral Home 1217 Business Loop 70 West Columbia, MO followed by a graveside service at 2:30pm.
David was born August 16, 1959 in Columbia to Elbert and Charlotte Allen Stephens. He attended Hickman High School. After high school he worked as a truck driver for a local alcohol distributor. He later worked in construction as a union roofer. After his father passed, he operated Allen’s Auto Salvage for 15 years before closing the business. He spent the past few years working as a cook for JJ’s Café in Columbia until his health no longer allowed him to work. He loved classic cars and enjoyed driving them for a while then swapping for the next. He always kept his cars shined and clean, showing them at cruise-ins and car shows. He also loved to just go out for a long Sunday drive.
He is survived by his sons, Cody & Tanner Allen of Columbia; grandkids, Elijah Allen & Tyler Guinn; a brother, Wayne Allen of Columbia; and cousins, Ronnie, Donnie, and Danny Stephens of Columbia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Michelle Miller and his parents.
