

Deborah Anne Jones, 72, a life-long resident of Columbia, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in Columbia. Visitation will be 10-11am, Saturday, May 9th at Compass E-Free Church, 600 Silvey Street, Columbia, Missouri. Funeral service will begin at 11am followed by burial in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Deborah was born July 1, 1953, in Columbia, to Valvin and Virginia Sinclair. She graduated from University High and earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Missouri. She worked her entire career in nursing, serving as an ICU nurse, working for the Harry S. Truman VA Hospital, Rusk Rehabilitation, and most recently as the school nurse at Christian Fellowship School. She married Terrill Jones at Bethel Baptist Church on November 20, 1987. Her four children were also an important part of her life. She was a skilled quilter and loved to make pieces to give to friends and family. She enjoyed sewing and completing puzzles. She was a member of the Threaded Hearts quilting group and the P.E.O Chapter LM. She loved growing beautiful flowers in her planters every spring. She also enjoyed baking for her family.
One of the most important parts of her life was her faith in Jesus Christ. A long time member of Compass E-Free Church, Debby was a deeply faithful woman who was very involved at her church through many events and Bible studies. She was passionate about serving in the Stephen Ministry, which trains individuals to provide Biblical grief counseling.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Terrill Jones; children, William (Krystal) Chapman of Ijamsville, MD, David (Kristyn) Chapman of Wellington, FL, Ashley (Cody) Hicks of Columbia and Caleb (Jessica) Jones of Columbia; eleven grandchildren; a sister, Rebecca Sinclair; several nieces and nephews and a loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents.
