

Debbie (Sapp) Walther, 69, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2025. Born on July 15, 1956, in Columbia to Robert and Jane (Crews) Sapp, Debbie was a lifelong resident of the community she cherished so deeply.
Debbie attended Columbia Public Schools and graduated from Hickman High School in 1974. Known for her strong spirit and unwavering work ethic, she spent much of her career with Textron, where she built not only a reputation as a dedicated employee but also lifelong friendships. She continued to serve her community by caring for Lang Middle School with the same pride and diligence she brought to every endeavor.
On January 3, 1997, Debbie married the love of her life, Michael “Mike” Walther, in in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their union was filled with laughter, mutual respect, and unwavering companionship. Mike survives her, holding close the memories of their many years together.
Debbie’s heart was boundless, she never met a stranger, and to be in her presence was to feel seen, welcomed, and loved. With a contagious smile and a spirit full of kindness, she made friends wherever she went. Her warmth extended to all creatures, and she was a devoted animal lover, especially fond of dogs and birds. Though she never owned a horse, she held a lifelong admiration for their beauty and grace.
A passionate collector, Debbie found joy in gathering dolls, t-shirts, and other keepsakes, each one a reflection of her personality and the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband, Mike Walther of Columbia; her beloved mother, Jane Sapp, also of Columbia; her brother, Randy Sapp, and his wife, Jenny of St. Joseph, Missouri; as well as three nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of friends who were touched by her kindness and light.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Sapp, and her dearly loved son, Alex, both of whom she now joins in eternal peace.
