On October 16, 2025, the soul of Dorlene (Zoeller) Weed found peace. She joined her parents and eight siblings in their heavenly reward. Dorlene is survived by her daughter, Debra Zoeller of St. Louis, brother-in-law Donald Foster of Colorado Springs, Colorado as well as many nieces and nephews.
Dorlene was born on October 23, 1936 in Boonville, Missouri to Frank S. Zoeller and Olivia M. (Klein) Zoeller, both of whom preceded her in death. She was the last surviving child of nine children born to Frank and Olivia. Her eight siblings include: brothers George N. Zoeller and Frank P. Zoeller; sisters Marjorie O. Love; Agnes Zoeller; Frances “Frankie” Potter; Rita Young; Sarah Twenter; and her twin sister Dolores Foster.
Dorlene graduated from SS. Peter and Paul Catholic High School. After her marriage in 1955, she and her husband moved to St. Louis where she began a 42-year long career as a switchboard operator in the private sector, retiring in 1999.
Dorlene enjoyed playing cards and Scrabble where she routinely beat her opponents, as well as working jigsaw puzzles with her daughter. Dorlene had a great love for all animals, especially for dogs. She was very fond of the racoons who lived in the woods behind her home. Not a day went by that she would not leave food for them.
