

Eddie attended Columbia Public Schools and was a graduate of Hickman High School. After high school, he began his career with Shelter Insurance Company. While working there, he was drafted into the United States Army, where he served honorably until his discharge. Following his military service, Eddie returned to Shelter Insurance and continued his education at the University of Missouri, where he attended for two years.
On June 18, 1966, Eddie married Jo Ann Dodge in Annandale, Virginia. Together they built a loving life and welcomed two children, Sheryl and Gregory.
Eddie dedicated 45 years to Shelter Insurance Company, working in information technology until his retirement. A hard worker who took great pride in his profession, Eddie truly enjoyed his work and remained committed to his career throughout his life.
He was a faithful and longtime member of Memorial Baptist Church, where his life reflected his quiet faith and commitment.
Eddie was mechanically inclined throughout his life and had a natural gift for building, repairing, and reworking motors. From an early age, he enjoyed working with his hands, and in his high school years he could often be found drag racing, a hobby that showcased both his mechanical skill and his love of engines.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Keene of Columbia, Missouri; his daughter, Sheryl C. Bucklew and her husband Kevin of Columbia; his son, Gregory M. Keene of Sturgeon, Missouri; two grandchildren, Anthony Reichert and his wife Olivia, and Zachary Reichert and his partner Ellen, all of Columbia; along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janet Moore.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Central Missouri Food Bank would be appreciated.
Services honoring Eddie’s life will be held Friday, January 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, Columbia, Missouri. Committal prayers and burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Columbia.
