Edna Mae Moser

Edna was born in LaCrosse, Indiana to Rudolf and Aline Heiniger Germann. Her father came to the US from Switzerland as a young man. She was the youngest of five siblings. Edna graduated from Augustana School of Nursing in Chicago. She also studied at Purdue and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Public Health Nursing from Michigan University. She paused while working as a nurse in order to help provide loving care to her aging parents. Edna Mae married Robert Keith Moser on July 4, 1964 in a backyard ceremony at her sister's home in Valparaiso, Indiana. Bob and Edna resided in Illinois, Minnesota and Missouri with their family. Bob and Edna owned and operated Wee Villa Resort on Long Lake in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. During their time in MN, their son Robbie, 6, was laid to rest in Elizabeth Lutheran Cemetery.

The family moved to Columbia from Bonne Terre, MO in 1976. Edna Mae was a registered nurse with Missouri Crippled Children's Service, later the University of Missouri Hospital & Clinics and she retired from the Veteran’s Administration Hospital. She was a 40-year breast cancer survivor. Her former hobbies included gardening, letter and postcard writing from wherever she and Bob traveled, attending her grandchildren's events, church activities and the extensive winter travel with Bob to Florida with their final trip being Carlsbad, CA in 2004.They were members of the Robert Moser Society, and the Evangelical Free Church was their church home for over 30 years. She enjoyed living at The Lodge since January 2018.

Edna loved visits from her grandchildren, her "schatzies," and upon meeting new friends, many received this special title as well.

She leaves loving memories with her daughter, Mary Alice Moser Jacks, special son-in-law, David Jacks, and grandchildren Kaleb (Nashville, TN) and Kylie (Lee's Summit, MO); her sisters-in-law, Irma (Dan) Germann; Shirley (Ron) Irion; Karen Hamlin and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. She joins her parents and siblings; infant sister Marie; Ann (Ray); Dan (Irma); Henry (Marge); brother-in-law, Don, her beautiful son, Robbie Allen and her loving husband Bob at our Heavenly Home.

Memorials in her honor may be sent in lieu of flowers to The Lodge, 542 Route DD, Fayette, MO 65248, a privately owned assisted living facility which provided loving and family-oriented care to Edna; The Alzheimer’s Research Foundation; or Ethnos 360 (aka New Tribes Missions), Sanford, Florida.
