Visitation will take place at 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2018 with a Homegoing Celebration at 11:00 a.m. at Sugar Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend Harry Williams, officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Edward was born on April 26, 1945 in Boone County, the son of George Williams and Ethel Mae (Warren) Williams. Edward attended New Haven grade school and graduated from Douglass High School. Edward was employed by Stephens College as a chef. He also enjoyed cooking for family friends and his church family. He was a life-long member of Sugar Grove Missionary Baptist Church he also sang in the choir and served on the Trustee Board. He enjoyed fishing and watching old westerns and was a big New England Patriots fan.
Edward is survived by a son: Edward Vaughn. (Melisa Vaughn); his siblings: Leutenus Williams; Lula Mae Kemp; Mildred Wright; John Williams; Betty Ann Butler; George Vincent Williams; a brother in law: John Redden and three grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents: George and Ethel Williams; a wife: Bernice Sexton; three sisters: Georgia Rose Redden; Mary Lee Williams; Ethel Ruth Powell and one brother: James Otis Williams.
