Visitation will take place 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Memorial Funeral Home with Funeral Services following at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment with graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2019 at Ft. Leonard Wood Veteran’s Cemetery.
Emma was born February 3, 1936 in Coffee County, Alabama the daughter of Howard Dixon Walker and Lema (Rice) Walker. In 1953 she was united in marriage to Bennie Hardy who preceded her in death.
Emma spent her career working as a civil servant. She was an officer in her local union at Fort Leonard Wood. She enjoyed her involvement Toastmasters, the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association. She loved to tend her garden each year. She enjoyed traveling especially to Silver Dollar City. She was avid Mizzou football fan.
Emma is survived by her children: Robert (Kay) Hardy; Dora Moser; Brian (Carol) Hardy; Paul Hardy; a daughter in law: Beth Hardy; her siblings: Faye, James, John, Harold, Richard, Florence, Charles, Kathy, Karen, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Emma was preceded in death her husband: Bennie; one brother: David Walker and one son: Billy Hardy.
Memorial donations in memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
