Erika M. Seaman, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on February 3, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and love. She was born on May 4, 1932, in Iglau, Czechoslovakia, to Stefan and Margarete Leskopf.
In April of 1952, Erika married the love of her life Paul H. Seaman Jr. who she met while he was stationed in Germany. Shortly thereafter, she immigrated to the United States with Paul, where they made their home and where she became a longtime resident of Waverly, Illinois. Erika deeply cherished her family and found great joy in tending her garden and baking cookies—treats so beloved that friends and neighbors eagerly awaited them.
At the age of 80, Erika was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, a decision that reflected her deep faith and hope for the future. She loved sharing with others what Jehovah promises to do for mankind and spoke often with conviction and warmth about those hopes.
Erika was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lieselotte, and her husband, Paul. She is survived by her two sons, Paul G. Seaman (Stephanie) and Richard A. Seaman (Suzi), as well as six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom were a great source of pride and joy in her life.
A memorial service will be held on February 21, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 1127 W North St; Auburn, IL 62615-9608. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jehovah’s Witnesses Worldwide Work at donate.jw.org.
