

A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2015, from 2 to 3pm and a Celebration of Life at 3pm at Memorial Funeral Home.
Florence was born April 19, 1922, in Woodlandville, the youngest daughter of Homer Lee and Elsie E. Mead Claxton. She spent most of her life in the Columbia area. She worked at several restaurants/truck stops. She also baby sat for several years.
She married JD Nichols. Together they had one son Bobbie Nichols. Later she married the love of her life Mason “Sam” Turner in February of 1947 in Columbia, MO, who preceded her in death on December 25, 1994.
Florence was also preceded in death by her husband Sam Turner; and parents her step father, Odell Walton; her two sisters Lillian Swanson and Margaret Seiberling, and a great grandchild Sammy Bernskoetter.
She is survived by one son, Bobbie (Molly) Nichols of Abilene, TX, and three daughters, Jackie (Will) White and Sammy (Jerry) Porter of Columbia, MO; and Ginny (David) Adair of Prairie Home, MO. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Florence enjoyed playing cards, cooking, going to parties, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to ballgames when her grandchildren were playing.
