

Hope Elizabeth Selvy Taylor, 60, of Centralia, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. She was born on January 4, 1966, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Dewey and Jeanette (Hurse) Selvy.
Hope was a nurse and dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked as at the University of Missouri Hospital, where she was known as an excellent nurse who truly loved what she did.
On October 12, 1985, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, Hope married Leland Louis Taylor, Jr. He preceded her in death on January 2, 2014. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Dewey and Jeanette Selvy; an infant son, David Michael Landry; and a beloved grandson, Deyton Page.
Hope is survived by her children, Katie Taylor of Kansas City, Missouri, Brittany Taylor of Centralia, Missouri, and Hannah Taylor of Kansas City, Missouri; and her four cherished grandchildren, Madisyn Taylor, Kyeden Taylor, Mia Mozingo, and Ellie Mozingo. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, David and Mickey Selvy of Las Vegas, Nevada; her nieces, Brandi, Ashley, and Megan Selvy; along with many other relatives and friends.
Hope was a strong, determined, and driven woman with a larger-than-life presence. She loved to dance, listen to classic rock, and cook for those she loved. Everyone will forever miss her “Creole food” and her legendary Cajun cooking. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She adored them deeply and cherished every moment she was able to spend with them. Her love for them was endless and unwavering.
Above all else, Hope’s faith was the most important part of her life. God was her Lord and Savior, and she found comfort and joy in gospel music and spending time with Him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Deyton Page Memorial Fund.
Services honoring and celebrating Hope’s life will be held at a later date.
