

Jacqueline Pierce, 83, of Centralia, MO was surrounded by her family as she went home to receive her angel wings, on Friday, December 9, 2016 in Columbia, MO. Funeral service will be 3:00 pm, Monday, December 12, 2016 at Memorial Funeral Home 1217 Business loop 70 West Columbia, MO with visitation from 1-3 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Jacqueline was born in Boone County, MO to E. Glenn and Lena Schmidt Whitesides. She attended Hickman High School and on September 26, 1950, she married Eugene T. Pierce in Columbia. She and their children
traveled around the world with Gene while he served in the US Army for over 20 years. She and Gene returned to Boone County in 1972 and worked together at the University of Missouri; where she will become known as the Pool Lady at McKee Gym. She enjoyed reading and keeping up with the game shows and soap operas. She had lots of very close friends, and was a kind hearted woman. Everyone was family to her
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Susan) Pierce, Eugene Jr (Tom) Pierce, Stephen Pierce, Jeffrey Pierce all of Centralia, MO; daughter, Janis (Bill) Callihan of Linton, IN; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren, siblings; Larry (Connie) Whitesides, Kenneth Whitesides, Dorothy (Walter) Sorrels, Brenda Kay Matney all of Columbia, and Gwen (Billy Ray) Turner of Moberly, MO; and by Rocky, her boxer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; brothers, Donald and Bobby Whitesides, and her parents.
