Janet Elaine Crow

Janet Crow, 76 of St. Louis, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at her home. Private family graveside services were conducted in Memorial Park Cemetery, Columbia, Missouri where she was laid to rest in the family plot.

Janet was born on October 16, 1947 in Columbia, the daughter of Stanley B Botner and Dixie y Botner. She graduated from A & M Consolidated High School, College Station, Texas and earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Missouri.

Janet was a caring person who always wanted to help those in need. This caring spirit led her into her career in social work where she worked with children, the infirm and seniors. She was employed with Barnes- Jewish Hospital, Saint. Louis for many years and later she worked with New Horizon’s P.A.C.E. also in Saint. Louis.

Janet loved animals! As a little girl she enjoyed playing with the kittens, dogs and horses at her grandparents’ farm. As an adult she was particularly close to her cat, Bosco who was her faithful companion for 22 years. Janet also enjoyed gardening. As she did with people, she would take in plants and flowers in need of extra care and nurse them back to health. Cooking was also a particular passion for Janet and she loved creating new dishes.

Janet is survived by her siblings: Linda (Ray) Noll of Columbia; Micky Botner of Oklahoma; Carol (Dave) Larsen of Columbia; one niece: Kathryn Weston; one nephew: John (Helen) Weston, Jr. and their children: Thomas and Julie. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
