She was born on Cape Cod, August 29, 1926 and was the daughter of Clarence W. Bayles and Nina (Howard) Bayles.
Jean earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Massachusetts. In 1951 she was married to Robert K. Huckins, in South Dennis MA, who preceded her in death in 1964. They had two children, Peter B. Huckins of Princeton, IL, and Ilayna H. (Glenn) Pickett of Columbia MO. In 1967 Jean married Wilbur E. McGill in Downers Grove, IL, who passed away in 1995. Will had four children: Donald McGill of Rio Vista, CA: Terry McGill of Louisville, KY; Timothy McGill of Brooklyn, NY; Laurie McGill Robertson of Buckingham, PA.
Jean enjoyed a long career as a junior high reading teacher in Downers Grove. In retirement Jean and Will were active members of the Community Congregational Church in New Port Richey, Florida. She and Will enjoyed traveling and had many interesting experiences in all corners of the world. Jean is survived by all 6 of her children and six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her two husbands. Private family services will take place at a later date in Florida.
