A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, January 17th, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia, Missouri with Kevin Wilkerson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
On September 10, 1936, Jerold was born in Columbia to Thomas Otis and Louise (Fulkerson) Stone.
He was united in marriage to Barbara (Lowes) Stone on October 13, 1963 after they met at an intersection on June 21 earlier that year.
In Jerold’s younger years he helped found North Callaway Fire Protection District and was a lifelong farmer. He was an extremely hard worker and instilled that value into his children. Jerold enjoyed fishing on the river in his free time and was a captivating storyteller. He was a friend, a neighbor and always had company over. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Jerold will be deeply missed by his wife, Barbara; children, Carol Ussery (Tom), Michael Stone, Lana Karhoff (Jackie), Rebecca Stone (Lucas), Sterling Mitchell (Lisa); sister, Linda Daly; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, James A. Stone, Darrell E. Stone, Ann L. Burton, and Virginia L. Duncan.
