

Lolita Montano Canoy, M.D., 84, of Columbia, MO passed away on May 19, 2015 at 9:25pm. A mass of Christian burial will be at Our Lady of Lourdes located at 903 Bernadette in Columbia on May 23 at 11:00 am, with visitation one hour prior to Mass.
Lolita was born on June 7, 1930 in Manila, Philippines to Justiniano and Ligaya Montano. She married Nestor R. Canoy, M.D. on April 12, 1953 at Our Lady of Lourdes in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines, and he survives.
Lolita received her medical degree from the University of the Philippines in Manila, and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She retired from her medical practice in 1984.
She was a member of the Country Club of Missouri and frequently enjoyed a good round of golf. Lolita was also an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish as a lector and Eucharistic minister. She was also a Lady of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.
Survivors include her husband, Nestor of Columbia; son, Nestor Justin “NJ” Canoy and wife Peggy of Columbia; daughter Lita Quisumbing and husband John of Cebu, Philippines; son Rev. Charles Canoy of Jackson, MI; son Jeffrey “Chip” Canoy and wife Sarah of Columbia; grandchildren Jon-Erik Quisumbing and wife Janeen of Cebu, Philippines; Justin Quisumbing of Cebu, Philippines; Solomon Canoy of Columbia and another Canoy grandchild is expected in October; great-granddaughter Janna Quisumbing of Cebu, Philippines; sister Irene de los Angeles of Manila, Philippines; brother; Julian Montano and wife Nilda of St. Louis; sisters-in-law Eleanor Montano of St. Louis, Yolanda Limjoco and husband Jorge of Los Angeles, Inday Canoy of Manila, Philippines; brothers-in-law Rogelio Manalo of Manila, Philippines, Reuben Canoy and his wife Solona of Cagayan de Oro, Philippines; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special caregiver, Ludette Legardo.
She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings Ciriaco, Delfin, Consolacion, Justinanio, Jr.
Memorial contributions may be given to Our Lady of Lourdes at 903 Bernadette in Columbia.
