

Loretta Mary (nee Fisher) Duncan, 93, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away on May 6, 2026, following a short illness. Private family graveside service will be held in held in Memorial Park Cemetery Columbia, MO.
Loretta was born on December 6, 1932, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1963, she married David L. Duncan, who preceded her in death on August 23, 2004
For more than 20 years, until her retirement, Loretta worked for American Publishing Company in Columbia.
Loretta was known for her strength, humor, resilience, and fierce love for her family. Before marrying Dave, she raised six children as a single mother during a time when women had far fewer opportunities and support systems. Despite limited resources, she always found ways to make birthdays and holidays special for her children, creating memories that lasted a lifetime.
After marrying Dave, the family settled in Columbia, Missouri, where Loretta built a life centered around family and laughter. In later years, she and Dave enjoyed traveling together, something Loretta continued to enjoy after his passing.
Family gatherings were often filled with retelling old stories—many centered around Loretta’s antics, quick wit, and unforgettable personality. She wholeheartedly joined in the laughter and loved being surrounded by her family.
Loretta is survived by her children, Linda (Michelle Kellen) McCann, Karen (McCann) Schultz, Tom (Connie) McCann, and Kenneth (Heather) McCann; her sister, Emily Dugan; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Duncan; her children, Raymond Paul McCann and Brenda (Jack) Davinson; her mother, Josephine (née Ober) Fisher; and her sisters, Marie Parker and Frances “Sissy” Jude.
