Madeline "Maddie" Norvell

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

She was born on October 4, 1936, in Iowa County, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Velva Fern (Summitt) Johnson, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married in 1955 to Lawrence Norvell, who preceded her in death on June 2, 1995.

Maddie served in the United States Navy. She was a cashier for Columbia Water and Light, and also a cashier in the cafeteria at Boone Hospital. She was an avid bowler, and enjoyed a day off and cup of coffee with friends. She lived a simple life, and was loved by many friends and family.

She is survived by: 4 children: Larry Norvell (Aletha) of Columbia; Bonnie Fruits (John) of Columbia; Patrick Norvell (Brenda) of California; and Teresa Lytle (Matt) of Columbia; 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; and 5 sisters.

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Calvary Episcopal Church.
