Marcus Andrew Rodhouse

Marcus Andrew Rodhouse, 47, of Columbia passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018. A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 17, 2018, at the Unity Church with a gathering of friends and family to follow in the fellowship hall.

Marcus was born December 6, 1971, in Columbia, the son of Mark Rodhouse and Anne Valentine Smith. He will be remembered as a kind, gentle, giving man who loved his family deeply. He was an avid reader and a lifelong learner with a keen interest in history, philosophy, spirituality and politics. He enjoyed chess, pool, bridge and poker (games he learned from his Grandpa Jim and Grandma Pat), music and song lyrics, fantasy and science fiction literature, D&D, video games, animals, the outdoors, and anything with his children. Above all, he was a devoted and loving father.

Marcus is survived by his partner: Kristin Hawley; his children: Maxwell Andrew Rodhouse, Clara Avalyn Rodhouse Hawley; his father: Mark Rodhouse; his mother: Anne Smith; his stepfather: Tom Smith; his sister: Emily Rodhouse (Shan Rich); his brothers: Brett Rodhouse, Kyle Rodhouse; his grandmother: Mary Kathryn Valentine; a special niece Ella Rich and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: James and Pat Rodhouse, Jack Valentine.
