

Services for Marjie will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home with Visitation beginning at Noon with a Memorial Service at 1:00 PM.
Margie was born November 21, 1943, in Sturgeon, MO as an only child to William “Dub” and Nellie Henry Reid, who preceded her in death.
Margie graduated from Hickman High School in 1961. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1965 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. She worked at MU for 3 years, then decided to earn her Secondary Teaching Certification in which she did student teaching at Hickman High School. Margie decided student teaching was not for her and went back to work at MU in the College of Education Dean’s office for 5 years. She then transferred to the School of Music where she worked as the fiscal assistant for over 25 years. She officially retired in March of 2000.
Over the years, Margie travelled extensively with the American Business Women’s Association and the Boone County Bank Classic Club. She travelled to many cities across the US and to many foreign countries, including an African safari in Kenya, East Africa. Her most recent travels included a cruise to the Caribbean in January 2025.
Margie was a lifelong member of Calvary Heritage Baptist Church. Her church friends were her extended family and were a very important part of her life.
Margie leaves behind an extensive list of cousins, all of which were very close to her, including Brenda (William) McAllister of Columbia, Debbie (Curt) Russell of Hallsville, Norma (Gene) McCubbin of Kansas City, Ken Reeves of Columbia, Janet (Gary) Meers of Lincoln, Nebraska, Bairie Nichols (Carol) St. Louis, MO, Nic Nichols (Helen) of Worden, Illinois, Don Nichols (Christa) of Florissant, MO and Gary Nichols from Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, cousins Faye (Sheets) Lewis, Connie (Sheets) Barnd, William “Bill” Sheets, David Sheets, Stanley Sheets, Robert Henry, Lloyd Earl (Preach) Henry, Roger Reeves, Frances Nichols and Faye Cockrell.
Margie leaves behind many, many second cousins and family who loved her dearly.
