Marla Vee (Green) Felder, 63 of Talihina, Oklahoma died Sunday, April 7, 2024 in McAlester, OK surrounded by her loving family. A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Columbia, Missouri. Burial will follow.
Marla was born to Richard Lyle and Patricia Claire (Nehrbass) Green on Jun 18, 1960 in Greeley, Colorado. She graduated from David H. Hickman High School in Columbia, Missouri in 1978. She then earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Trevecca Nazarene University, Nashville, Tennessee in 1982. Marla went on to earn a Master’s degree from Central Missouri University in Warrensburg, Missouri.
Marla married Thomas Graham Felder on November 19, 1982 in Nashville, Tennessee. Marla and Tom had a caring and loving relationship, based on mutual support and a deep love for each other. She worked as a gerontology social worker for several nursing homes and hospices in Chattanooga, Nashville, Tennessee and Kansas City, Missouri. Marla was a person of faith and lived her life serving others. Marla currently served as the pastor’s wife at Gateway Church of the Nazarene in Talihina, Oklahoma.
Marla was an avid reader and loved to write in her journal, that she had done since high school. She also enjoyed arts and crafts. Marla’s children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. The legacy of Marla’s zest for life, will live long through her children, grandchildren and friends. Marla was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with her family especially her grandsons.
Marla rejoins her infant brother, Michael David Green; paternal grandparents, David and Marvel Green; and maternal grandparents, Marl and Fredia Nehrbass.
Marla is survived by her parents, Richard and Pat Green of Columbia, Missouri; husband, Rev. Tom Felder of the home; son, Ben Felder and wife, Lori of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter, Megan Lynes and husband, Michael of Hartshorne, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Satchel Felder, Lincoln Lynes; brother, Daniel Green and wife, Samantha of Jefferson City, Missouri; uncle, Bill Green and wife, Shirley of Knoxville, Tennessee; several special cousins, best friend, Vickie White, other cousins, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Marla will be missed but not forgotten.
