She was born on July 13, 1943, in Kennett, Missouri, to the late Bruce Odell and the late Virginia (Hunsaker) Odell. In September of 1962, she married Richard Barker, and together they shared a lifetime of love and memories. Richard preceded her in death.
Mary began her career at Boone National Savings and Loan, where she worked for many years before retiring. After retiring from the bank, she continued her professional journey at Zales in Columbia, where her love for jewelry made her work especially meaningful. She spent 40 years with Zales and worked at Edward Jones during the last 20 years of her career. In her free time, Mary found joy in the simple pleasures, camping, fishing, and spending time outdoors. She had a passion for beauty, both in nature and in life, and enjoyed sharing that through her time as a Mary Kay consultant. Mary and her husband cherished their winters in Florida, where they stayed with her parents and made lasting memories. One of their most memorable adventures together was a trip to Alaska, reflecting their shared love of travel and new experiences.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Regina Mueller; grandsons, Russell and Richard Mueller; and brother, Wayne Sherfield.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her stepfather that raised her most of her life, Russell Sherfield; her son, Michael Barker; sister, Peggy Baker; and so-in-law, William Mueller.
