

She was born September 13, 1934, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the second child of Floyd Elmer and Myrtie Grace Powell Hodges.
Mary graduated in 1952 from Fayetteville High School in Arkansas. She attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs.
She was blessed with and survived by three children, John Saxon, Robert (Ann) Saxon and Gus (Shelley) Saxon, 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mary worked for many years in public libraries in Las Vegas and Overton, Nevada; Price, Utah and Mexico, Missouri. She had a great love for genealogy and family history and spent many hours researching her ancestors.
Mary was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving two missions to the family history department at the Church’s headquarters in Salt Lake City. She exemplified true, unconditional love and service to family and her Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she loved and testified of often.
Memorial services will be held Friday, Apr. 1, 11:00 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel, 904 Old Hwy 63 South, Columbia, Missouri. A graveside service for friends and family will be conducted at the Memorial Park Cemetery, 1217 Business Loop 70 West, Columbia, Missouri, Apr. 2, 2022, at 9:30 a.m.
