Mindy Louise Lockwood

Mindy Lockwood, 68, of Sturgeon, MO passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2024 in Columbia. Visitation will be Monday, August 26 from 2:00-3:00pm with a 3:00pm service at Memorial Funeral Home 1217 Business Loop 70 West Columbia, MO. Followed by burial in Bethlehem Cemetery in Harrisburg, MO.

Mindy was born July 24, 1956 in Columbia to Kenny and Patricia Stone Nichols. In 1974, she graduated from Harrisburg High School. After high School, she worked a few years in the printing department at Shelter Insurance then she spent the next several years with Boone County Circuit Clerk’s office. On December 8, 1989, she married Thomas Lockwood at Riggs Church. They were married 33 years before he passed in 2022. After the birth of her daughter, Elizabeth, she became a stay-at-home mom. She loved spending time with her family and grandkids, and cruising on the Lake of the Ozarks. She was also a talented crafter and quilter.

She is survived by her daughter, Liz Lockwood of Sturgeon; grandkids, Forrest, Boone, and Henry Hazlett; siblings, Marty Davis of Sturgeon, Mike Nichols of Sturgeon, Kathy Nichols (George Thomas) of Clark, and Randy (Shelly) Nichols of Sturgeon; many nieces and nephews and a loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Lockwood; grandson, Howard Hazlett, and her parents.
