

Philip Donald Brock, 60, of Ashland, MO passed away at his home surrounded by family on November 10, 2021 after a short battle with lung cancer. Friends may gather Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Memorial Funeral Home from 10:30 am – 11:30 am and join the family for a memorial service at 11:30 am. Graveside services will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Phil was born March 3, 1961 to William A. and Sandra Vanfossen Brock in Hutchinson, KS. He was a Shawnee Mission Northwest High School graduate, class of 1980. He served in the Kansas National Guard. He was very patriotic and one of this last requests was to hang the American Flag for Veterans Day.
On April 26, 2014, Phil was united in marriage to Carol McCormack after being set up on a blind date by some match making co-workers. Together they had a blended family of six children that he was very proud of.
Phil loved his home town of Kansas City. Everything from his favorite barbeque to his beloved Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. Most games were enjoyed while texting back and forth to his brother about the game plays.
Phil was employed by Brinks Armored from 2003 until his passing. He loved his work and often said it was the most enjoyable job he ever had. He enjoyed his daily interactions with customers and made many friends.
He also loved any outdoor activities. Hiking, riding his bike on the Katy Trail, fishing anywhere he could throw a line in, and traveling in the travel trailer. He especially loved the water and the beach at Fort Morgan, AL.
Phil is survived by his wife, Carol Brock; children, Catherine Michele Chalk (Adam), Alan Brock, Tiffany Brock, Christina Fritchey (Tracey), Stephen Oswald, and Jesse McCormack (Miranda); grandchildren, Zander, Ariana, Austin, Grant, Landon, Aiden, Milo, Ana, and Bella Leigh; brothers, Van Brock (Roxanne) of Grantsburg, WI and Bill Brock (Sandy) of Overland Park, Kansas; nephews, Blake (Kahli) and Mitchell; great nephew, Miller; nieces, Jessica (Latasha) and Olivia; and a loving extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for Dr. Joseph Beckmann for his compassionate care of Phil and for always being there for us.
