Raelene Derrieux

Raelene Derrieux, 82, of Columbia, formerly of Hannibal, Missouri passed away, Monday, May 26, 2025, in Columbia. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W, Columbia, Missouri. A private inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Raelene was born November 19, 1942, in St. Louis, MO to Raymond and Frances (Vlemmas) Casatta. On December 29, 1962, she married George Derrieux and they spent the next 62 years together. She earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Central Methodist College in Fayette and later completed her master’s degree at Truman State University. She spent 30 years as a second grade teacher in the Hannibal School District and Ralls County R-II. She enjoyed reading, playing golf, and gardening. She loved, most of all, to spend time with her grandkids at the Lake of the Ozarks.

She is survived by her husband, George Derrieux; children, Denise (Charles) Subke and Dennis (Jill) Derrieux; grandchildren, Tyler (Allie) Subke, Jamie (Nate) Robertson, Austin (Caroline) Subke, Drew Derrieux, and Zachary Subke; great-grandchildren, Kylar and Halle Robertson; and her siblings, Howard (Shirlee) Casatta and Lorraine (Tim) Bauer. She was preceded in death by her parents.
