Bob served in the US Navy during Vietnam and retired in 1988 after 20 years of service. On September 11, 1970 he was united in marriage to Linda Warren Wing in the Salt Lake City Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, of which he was a faithful and dedicated member. He received a Bachelor’s in chemistry and a Master’s degree in Technical Education with a specialty of Manufacturing Technology. Most of Bob’s career was spent as a Certified Safety Professional in the food processing industry.
Robert is survived by his eternal companion, Linda, and four siblings, Sally Louise Simpson, Nancy Thomas, Deborah Wing-Leonard, and Tom Wing. He will be dearly missed by his four children, their spouses and nine grandchildren: April Lynette Wing Richardson (husband Scott and children Jolei and Alayna Richardson), Nicole Aline Wing Sweeney (husband David and children Hayden and Collin Sweeney), Spencer Warren Wing (wife Anna and children Sophie and Stella Wing), and Kirk David Wing (wife Virginia and children Bruce, Henry, and Susan Wing).
Bob was a social butterfly who never met a stranger. He was an expert joke and storyteller who laughed at his own jokes harder than anyone else. Bob loved flying and building model airplanes, Fords, old cars, and was a lover of all genres of music. Bob traveled the world during his life and especially enjoyed taking cruises with his beautiful wife. He was extremely patriotic and loved his country. Above of all, Bob loved his Savior Jesus Christ and his family. His mission continues…
