Ruby May (Sulllens) Balsley, 86, of Columbia passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025. Private family graveside services were conducted in Memorial Park Cemetery where she was laid to rest next to her husband, Thomas Balsley.
Ruby was born on October 9, 1938, in Miller County, Missouri, the daughter of Raymond and Lois (Holzhauser) Sullens. On June 11, 1966 she was united in marriage to Thomas Ray Balsely who proceeded her in death in 2022.
Ruby dedicated her life to the education and formation of young children. She retired from elementary education after 27 years from the Fort Zumwalt School District. She was a member of The Crossing Church in Columbia.
Ruby is survived by her two daughters: Anne Balsley; Traci (Joey) Holmgren; two granddaughters: Kayla and Lauren all of Columbia; one sister: Lois Jean George of South Bend, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother: Kenneth Sullens.
