

Shearley Mae Duke, born on February 9, 1939, in East Saint Louis, IL, to the late Robbie and Joe Louis Robinson. Shearley then married her beloved husband Joe Duke at Progressive missionary Baptist in 1981. Shearley's vibrant spirit will be remembered with love and cherished by all who knew her. She was a devoted Christian who found solace and strength in her faith, and her love for God was evident in all aspects of her life. Shearley raised her family and grandchildren up at Praise Assembly of GOD. She had a passion for jewelry, fashion, finding good deals and playing card games with her loved ones. She will be remembered for her impeccable sense of humor and her infectious laughter, always accompanied by her trademark gold smile.
As a dedicated nurse for over 15 years, Shearley touched the lives of many with her compassion and care. She found joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating cherished memories that will be forever treasured.
In her free time, she found delight in singing, shopping, attending garage sales, playing Bingo, filling every moment with laughter and love.
Shearley's legacy lives on through her devoted family, including her beloved children: Rosie, Linda, Michelle (of Columbia, MO), Johnny (of Saint Louis, MO), Joseph (of Indiana), Kevin (of Lockport, Illinois), Daniel, and Sylvester (of Columbia, MO). She was also a cherished bonus mother to Lil Michelle, and to her two special grandsons Antonio and Tyrone whom she took extended care for.
She was the cherished matriarch of her family, preceded in death by her parents Robbie and Joe Robinson , Belated husband : Joe Duke and Siblings : Maw Hawkins, Norman Jean, Lillie Thomas and Georgia Berry all of it East Saint Louis. 7 Brothers, Jesse Robinson, George Willie Robinson, James Robinson, Robert Robinson, Norman, Frederick Robinson and Earl Robinson. Granddaughter:Serenity, Grandson: Treveon and two great grandsons : Kentareion, Jon'Ta.
A visitation for Shearley will be held Friday, February 23, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow. A graveside service will occur Friday, February 23, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery/Columbia, 1217 Business Loop 70 W, Columbia, Missouri 65202.
