I have a teary eyed while sharing my Memory of Shirley . First of all, with fervent prayer May  HER SOUL REST IN PEACE and WARM CONDOLENCE to her SWEET FAMILY.

The first day , my family attended church at Calvary, we were met by a beautiful lady with a smile and open arms, and that was Shirley! Because of her, I chose  to join Senior Adult ladies Sunday School and I was told, as the only chick among the seniors.  Well, I felt good and well loved and considered her and her family the Angels on Earth, true Blessings from God.

Though, we missed her immeasurably, let us keep in mind that she is now  in HEAVEN with our LORD!



She, Bob and their family, are the Angels on Earth to me. Bob’s family   is a true Blessings to me 

The service yesterday was a wonderful tribute for a great lady - Shirley's smile, sense of humor and genuine interest and concern for others impacted the lives of so many of us! Scott's singing of "His Eye is on the Sparrow," Kathy's reading of the poem she'd written for her mother, Alan's reading of Shirley's synopsis of her life story, and the grandchildren readings of important scriptures were all very impactful. Our families shared many great times together, it is an understatement to say she will be missed - and also an understatement to say that there is rejoicing in heaven and that we are looking forward to a joyous reunion there in the future.  Much love to your family and prayers for the peace and comfort that only God can provide in these times.

Bob, you and your family have my deepest sympathy.  I’ve known your family when our children were very small.  Oh how. I remember the times I was with Shirley.  So jolly & had a wonderful sense of humor.  I had to leave Columbia a long time ago, but I always remembered my friend’s I went to church with and never forgot them.  
May you and your family be blessed in the days ahead.  I send your family my love.

Shirley and Bob Marshall were two of my favorite people at Calvary Baptist Church, where I grew up and was married. Shirley was very involved in GA's and YWA's and mentored me a lot. Her smile and twinkling eyes were her trademark. She was lots of fun to be with. When my mother, Fern Neiger,  died, she spoke up at her service and praised her for her contributions to the young people at Calvary. Bob missed her service, because he went to pick up my son at the airport and got him there by the end of the service. I will always love Bob for doing that! Bob and Shirley were always gracious and supportive of our family. His daughter Becky organized a lovely tribute to Daddy, Dr. Fred Neiger, when he retired. When Daddy died, Bob and Shirley opened their home and allowed us to stay with them, since we were all out of town. Shirley was a godly woman with a strong faith and a lovely sense of humor! She will be missed by so many!

Angels in heaven are rejoicing to see you Shirley!  You will be missed on earth but your impact will live on.  Your smile is always my 1st thought quickly followed by your staying with my grandson, not just babysitting  but singing "Jesus Loves Me" to him, and he learned to love Jesus too!  Then seeing you at a doctors office while you were helping someone else get there to get medical care.  You and your family will always hold a special place in our hearts! 

Shirley and I worked together for years at the Child Development Lab. Besides trying to keep all of the children and families of the CDL happy, we talked lots about our own children.  Many, many happy memories with Shirley—and Bob too?  Remember when we were all on the same softball team and carried our balls in a Department store bag?  We quit the year a team came with actual ball and bat bags and spit on their hands while at bat!  We were not quite in that league!  


Shirley was a wonderful person.  Bob, you were so good at taking care of her - your devotion to each other and family is truly inspirational.  

Dear Bob and Family,
Our sympathy and prayers go out for you.  Shirley was dear friend for many years.  She will always be remembered as loving and caring.(And for her ability to tell a story or joke and never forget the “punch line!”)

Bob and family -- I love the photograph of Shirley, which beautifully captures her qualities of wisdom and mischief.  Through all of her years in the Child Development Lab, she was called upon innumerable times to be an advisor, problem-solver, and honorary grandmother to countless kids and their parents.   It took a well-developed sense of humor to successfully work in an environment that was constantly percolating with the enthusiasm and joys and sorrows of so many children.  Shirley was the personification of equanimity amidst it all--much loved by faculty, staff, and client families.  We were all lucky to have her as a part of our lives.  Deepest condolences to your family.

Sending you my deepest sympathy for your loss.  It is very obvious how much you loved your Mom and how close you were to her.  Her eyes are your eyes and her sense of humor and kindness you obviously share.  Remember her fondly....

I loved this lady, that is a common thread all that were blessed to be a part of Shirley's life shared.    She listened with compassionate ears, offered loving advice, loved to give and receive hugs, and she was just plain funny.  She always seemed so glad to see me, and that smile and gleam in her eyes was contagious!   
My heart goes out to all of the family through these next minutes, hours, days, and years. So many good memories to sustain you!
There is a beginning date of your life, then a dash, and the ending date of your life.  The dash represents the impact you had in life, Shirley's impact was great!
May God give you strength and comfort....Love you!
 

To Bob and family,
Just read that your blessed Shirley has gone on to be with our Lord and Savior. God bless you in your grief and memories of her.
She was such a witness to my mother and sisters and so many many others.
She picked up us as four little  girls back in  the 1959- 60 + time  period. She took us to Sunday school, church and other church activities at Calvary Baptist Church in Columbia, Mo. She taught us 
too and loved us.
I loved her and am praying for you all.
