Stan was born on October 15, 1954, in England, to Merlyn and Muriel Lynn.
Stan leaves behind his wife Linda Kay (Barnes) Lynn and son, Travis Lynn. Siblings who survive are Linda Shives (Norm), Dale Lynn (Joetta), Debra Patterson (Chris); Don Lynn (Venus); and his brother/sister-in-laws: Terry (Cheryl) Barnes, Jerry (Tina) Barnes, Lillian Lynn and Alan Reed. There are also numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers: David, Robert, and Ronald Lee Lynn, a sister: Donna Carpenter-Reed, his in-laws: Cecil and Helen Barnes, and nephew: Tyler Barnes.
Stan came into the family as the second son, and the third of nine children. The family was a military one, so there were several moves in those early years. Stan learned early how to make new friends and he made many lifelong friends.
Stan was the second of his siblings to graduate from Hickman High School in 1973. He served six years in the US Army Reserves as a Supply Specialist. In his early adult life, he held a variety of jobs, including working at VitaFresh and Kmart. Stan’s long-time career was spent working for the City of Columbia Street Department, retiring after 32 years. He then worked at Sydenstricker Nobbe Partners as a truck driver, and finished working part time as a delivery driver at Ri-Mor.
Stan’s passions (after his family) were playing baseball in his youth, in FFA Alumni support, collecting and working on his collection of Farmall Tractors, a camping club, and curing champion Boone County Hams. He worked with the youth of several 4-H clubs curing up to 100 hams in some years. He also loved time spent outdoors, and being with people. He will be remembered as a family man, a hard-worker, a jokester, and someone who could be counted on when you needed him.
