

Thomas Edward Coyle, DDS, aged 79, from Columbia & Laurie, MO, passed away on February 23, 2024. Born in St. Louis on October 11, 1944, he was the son of Irvin and Gladys (Roher) Coyle. Thomas completed his education at University High School in 1962, the University of Missouri in 1966, and obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Washington University. Subsequently, he pursued a certificate of specialization in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of Minnesota in 1973. For four decades, Tom dedicated his skills as an oral surgeon in his private practice and at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia. Between his educational pursuits and professional endeavors, Tom married Carolyn Elaine Lionberger in 1966.
Tom retired at the age of 69 and spent his last decade residing at Lake of the Ozarks. He had a passion for the outdoors in every aspect imaginable and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was recognized by neighbors and friends for his consistent readiness to lend a helping hand. Tom shared an unbreakable bond with his loyal companion, Rusty, a faithful canine always at his side.
Tom is survived by his wife, "Bitsey," three children: Tim, Chris, and Caty, and five grandchildren: Shannon, Matthew, and Samantha Draper, as well as Callie and Adeline Coyle.
Visitation at Memorial Funeral Home February 29 from 1-3 pm with a Graveside service at 3 pm. A Celebration of Life will be hosted at D’Rowes restaurant at 4 pm.
Memorial Contributions will go to support his neighbor at the Lake, Hohn Scout Reservation and checks may be made out to Great Rivers Council, BSA and delivered in a sealed envelope to Tim Coyle in person or at his office in Columbia.
