Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014, 3:00 p.m. at Missouri United Methodist Church, 204 S 9th Street, Columbia.
She was born on July 4, 1923 in Martinsville, Missouri, the daughter of the late John Henderson and Altha R. (England) Scott. She married Robert L. Ross in 1945 and he preceded her in death.
She attended Northwest Missouri State College and graduated from the University Of Missouri College Of Education in 1947. Virginia, a lifelong Missouri Tiger fan, enjoyed reading, needlework, playing golf and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Scott Ross, Chris Ross, Carter Ross and Anne Ross; six grandchildren; and three great grandsons.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Scott and Henrietta VanHoozer; nephew, Nelson Scott VanHoozer; and one great nephew, Ricky Butler.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or Central Missouri Food Bank.
