Barbara Ann Johnson, of Foxworth, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at the age of 87. She was born in Hattiesburg to Taylor and Edna Bowman. Barbara was raised in Hattiesburg and has lived in numerous places as an adult, including Michigan, Texas, Florida, and Virginia. In 1994 she moved back to Mississippi settling in Marion County. Barbara enjoyed antiquing and casinos. She loved all animals, especially cats and dogs. She was an excellent cook, famous for her homemade biscuits and sausage gravy. Barbara will be remembered for the phenomenal meals that she prepared for her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Sumrall; a brother, Bud Bowman; a daughter, Julene Hockett; and a son, Earl Smith. Barbara is survived by two sons, Charles Van Smith and James G. Smith; a sister, Pat Maginly (Bill); and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The funeral services for Barbara will be private.
