Bonnie Joanne Hammond, of Foxworth, Mississippi, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020 at the age of 63. Bonnie was born in Hastings, Minnesota and has been a resident of Marion County for the past 30 years. She was devoted to her family and deeply loved her grandchildren. Bonnie was a free spirit who never met a stranger. She had great compassion for other people and would share what she had with anyone in need. Bonnie will be remembered as a prankster who always knew just the right way to lift someone’s spirits if they were down. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clay Hammond, Sr.; her mother, Joan Frazier; her father, Bradley Evans; a brother, Duane Amundson; a step-daughter, Shannon Hammond; and a special aunt, Juanita Bohn. Bonnie is survived by two daughters, April Holman and husband, Chris, and Deedra Davis; a step-daughter, Carrie Hammond; a son, Solomon Evans and wife, Brittany; two step-sons, Clay Hammond, Jr. and Ronnie Rainville; six sisters, Cindy Romero and husband, Coonie, Jane Statham and husband, Willie, Roberta Stogner and husband, Darrell, Danelle Coleman, Karrie Johnson, and Dana Nason; four brothers, Brad Evans, Jeff Amundson and wife, Susan, Randy Amundson, and Kenny Amundson and wife, Katie; twenty grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. There will be a visitation for Bonnie at Colonial Funeral Home from 4:00pm until 9:00pm on Sunday, January 26, 2020. The funeral service will be at 1:00pm on Monday, January 27, 2020 in the funeral home chapel officiated by her son, Brother Solomon Evans, Brother Max Campbell and Brother Warren Selman, Jr. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Church of God Cemetery assisted by Christopher, Chaz, Isaiah, Eric, Courtney, Brandy, Nikki, Willie, Quanah, Kellie, Destiny, and Samuel serving as pallbearers.
