Cecil Dyess

Cecil Dyess, age 77 of Columbia, MS died Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. He retired from Jefferson Davis Community Hospital with 39 years of employment and was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

Mr. Dyess was preceded in death by his parents, W.A. Dyess and Mattie Jenkins Dyess; and brothers, Clifford Dyess, Don Dyess, and John Dyess. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Brasseal Dyess of Columbia; a son, Dale Dyess of Prentiss, MS; his sister, Mary Sue Dyess; and a brother, Kenneth Dyess and his wife, Becky of Gulfport, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for Cecil will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery where friends are invited to visit with family from 10:00am until service time. Reverend Preston Smith will preside over services and interment will follow at the conclusion of ceremonies.
